Highlights from the 2025 THSCA Convention

The 93rd annual Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Convention brought over 18,000 coaches to San Antonio, and Scorability was proud to be in the middle of it all. For three days, we connected with high school coaches from every sport and region of Texas and we heard it loud and clear: recruiting happens best when it’s coach-led, efficient, and built to work across every program at every level.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite moments, learnings, and conversations that reinforced why high school coaches are the central figure of college recruiting.

High school coaches bring unmatched passion for their athletes, but their time and resources are spread thin. Here is what they loved to see from Scorability:

  • Exposure at every level. With diverse rosters, coaches loved that Scorability works with college programs nationwide from every NCAA division and both junior college levels so they can help guide that right fit for every player.
  • One-time evaluations. Coaches can leave an honest evaluation of their athletes one time and have that seen by every interested program. This reduces the repetitive phone calls while allowing for more productive discussions when high school and college coaches connect about a player.
  • Enhanced visibility. Tools like Scorability’s watchlists and map view help surface and amplify athletes that fit a college program’s needs, regardless of hype or location or athlete resources.
  • Verified and up-to-date measurables and offers. Coaches loved the ability to add and update athlete measurables and activity, ensuring colleges see the real-time numbers and status, not outdated data locked in static spreadsheets
  • Free athlete access. Students and their families should not have to pay to be recruited. Scorability is free for athletes, making recruiting equitable for everyone.

Several coaches returned to our booth on Day Two to let us know they already logged in and started managing their Scorability Team Page. “I can’t believe I have free access to something this helpful and easy to use,” said Weiss High School Head Coach, Malcom Hill.

A 2A head coach out of the Amarillo area echoed the same thing: “Something like this is perfect for a school like ours that is out in the middle of nowhere—it’ll help get our guys seen.”

Highlights from the Conference Sessions

The FBS Head Coaches Forum had a clear message to the audience: the recruiting process starts with high school coaches. Not third-party recruiting agents, scams, or Twitter DMs. They wholeheartedly believe in THSCA’s Straight Line Recruiting philosophy—where college coaches go directly through high school coaches to evaluate athletes— and Scorability’s platform aligns perfectly with that mission.

No one knows an athlete better than their high school coach—their habits, their character, their coachability. That’s why Scorability gives coaches the power to share athlete insights with clarity and reach in a platform that is trusted by the college coaches.

Highlights from our Customers

Our Texas customers were thrilled to see the high school coaches using our platform, making it easier for colleges to discover and evaluate the right athletes for their teams. Programs like Trinity University showed up in force, and helped communicate the value of Scorability to high school coaches from around the state.

And at our Coach Social with the UTSA Football team, hundreds of coaches showed up to connect, swap stories, and enjoy some top-tier barbecue. The energy was everything we love about Texas!

Scorability Helps High School Coaches

Scorability puts high school coaches at the center of recruiting—right where they belong. No one knows the athlete better, and the only real recruiting process is one led by the coaches. We’re proud to support both college and high school coaches with a clear, transparent, and equitable process that saves time so everyone can focus on what they love most: coaching.

It was a blast to connect with so many coaches here in our home state, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year in Houston!
